D. Y. Patil Education Society is established in the year-1987 with the mission to provide best quality
education in the area of health sciences comparable with the best institutions in the world.

Presently the Society is running following institutions.

Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Kolhapur.

Dr. D. Y. Patil Hospital & Research Centre, Kolhapur.

 
Dr. D.Y.Patil Hospital and Medical Research centre is a teaching hospital attached to the Medical College. The Hospital is constructed on a sprawling campus admeasuring 25 acres of land. The Hospital is equipped with a gamut of state of art. Medical facilities required for primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare are provided. The civil cost of the building is Rs. 160.0 million and cost of the equipments and the furniture is Rs. 75.8 million.
 
The Hospital has Trauma care unit, Neonatal ICU, ICU with 30 beds, ICCU with 10 beds and there are thirteen operation theaters in the hospital. Hospital has 604 beds.
The hospital has developed some superspeciality like Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology etc. and the development of the other specialties are in pipe line.
